Wake Forest University's men's basketball program has announced the signing of Antonio Dorn, a seven‑foot center whose career has spanned the United States and Germany.
A Defensive Upgrade for the Demon Deacons
Dorn arrives after a two‑year stint at Virginia Tech, where he appeared in 24 games during the 2025‑26 campaign, averaging 8.5 minutes per outing and shooting a robust 64.3 percent from the field.
His collegiate debut came at the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff, where he contributed four points, three rebounds and an assist against St. Joseph's. He later logged a season‑high 30 minutes at South Carolina, scoring eight points, and recorded a double‑double of 16 points and 15 rebounds in February 2025.
Prior to college, Dorn refined his game in Germany's second division with Bozic Estriche Knights Kirchheim, averaging 9.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in the 2024‑25 season and playing a key role in Ratiopharm Ulm's Basketball Bundesliga championship.
Head coach Steve Forbes praised Dorn's competitiveness and communication skills, emphasizing that the big man's defensive presence and efficiency should add depth to the Demon Deacons' frontcourt as they aim to climb the ACC standings.
The addition of Dorn reflects Wake Forest's strategy of bolstering its roster with experienced, versatile talent, and fans can expect to see a more formidable interior presence when the team opens its season in the coming weeks.
