A New Era for Jamestown Baseball
Tom Hager, the winningest coach in University of Jamestown baseball history, has been elevated to Deputy Athletic Director of Development and Leadership, marking the end of a 27‑season tenure that produced 869 victories.
During his long stint, Hager guided the Jimmies to eight regular‑season conference titles, six tournament championships and three regional crowns, while his teams appeared in 11 NAIA tournaments, including two World Series appearances. He earned Coach of the Year honors five times and helped launch 18 professionals, one of whom reached Major League Baseball.
Ryan Iliff Steps Into the Head Coach Role
Ryan Iliff, a former Jimmies player and assistant coach, now leads the program. Iliff was a member of the 2008 NAIA World Series team and was named Dakota Athletic Conference All‑Conference in 2011, placing him among the school’s all‑time leaders in several pitching categories.
Iliff is expected to build on Hager’s foundation, leveraging his playing experience and deep ties to the program to maintain the team’s competitive edge and continue developing talent for the next level.

Andrew Young, a former Jimmies standout, played 70 games for the Washington Nationals in 2020‑21, illustrating the pathway Hager created for his athletes to reach the majors.
