Charlotte Women's Soccer Unveils 11‑Player Class for 2026 Season
The university’s women’s soccer program revealed an 11‑player signing class that blends experienced collegiate transfers with a wave of fresh talent, setting the stage for a competitive 2026 campaign.
Head coach Sinead Byrne emphasized that the incoming group is expected to make an immediate impact while also contributing to the long‑term growth of the program, highlighting the coaching staff’s confidence in the class’s versatility.
Several of the transfers played pivotal roles in the team’s 2025 run, which included ten victories and a No. 2 seed in the American Conference, underscoring the continuity of success that the new arrivals bring.
Among the freshmen, three athletes arrive with international experience, including Sorcha Melia from Ireland, Marlies Pison of Belgium and Holly Robins of New Zealand, each of whom has already represented their nations at youth level.
The class also reflects a geographic spread, with representatives from North Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Massachusetts, ensuring a broad talent pool that reaches from the Southeast to the Northeast.
Coach Byrne noted that the combination of domestic depth and overseas pedigree positions the squad to contend strongly within the conference and beyond, while also enriching the campus culture with diverse playing styles.
