Oregon State's baseball team has added a promising arm to its lineup, announcing the signing of right‑handed pitcher Cade Queen from Montana State Billings through the transfer portal.
A Fresh Arm for the Beavers
Queen, a native of Powell, Wyoming, arrives after a standout freshman season in which he was named the 2026 Great Northwest Athletic Conference freshman of the year. He posted a 4‑2 record with a 4.31 ERA and demonstrated steady improvement in command throughout the year.
The Beavers will pair him with Sam Coxen, another transfer from MSU Billings, creating a new left‑right combination in the rotation. Queen will retain three years of eligibility, giving the program a long‑term piece for the coming seasons.
Beyond his pitching duties, Queen also contributed as a two‑way player, making several starts at second base for the Billings team. He capped his freshman campaign with a complete‑game win over the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks on March 21, a performance that highlighted his resilience and skill.
Fans may recognize the Queen name from reliever Wyatt Queen, a notable Beavers pitcher, though the two are unrelated. The addition of Cade Queen is expected to bolster the staff's depth and provide a boost as the team looks toward future competitions.
