Free Soccer Watch Party Brings Community Together
The City of Green River Parks and Recreation Department will host a free USA Soccer Watch Party on July 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Green River Recreation Center. The event invites residents of all ages to gather and support Team USA as it faces Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Cup.
Attendees can check in at the front desk to receive a complimentary red, white and blue wristband, and they are welcome to bring lawn chairs, bean bags or blankets to enjoy the bleacher seating. No concessions will be sold on site, keeping the gathering completely free.
“This event is about creating a true community moment,” said Katie Blood of the City of Green River Parks & Recreation. Her words underscore the department’s aim to foster connection among neighbors while celebrating the sport.
The watch party will be family friendly and strictly alcohol and substance free, reinforcing a safe environment for families and friends to share the excitement of the match.
