The Star Press has unveiled its 2026 All‑Area baseball team, a roster that celebrates the best talent from a dozen high schools across the region.
Seven schools earned representation, with Delta and Monroe Central emerging as the most prolific contributors, the former supplying two standout players and the latter adding a coach of the year to its list of accolades.
A season of standout performances
Drew Fredenburg of Shenandoah was crowned Player of the Year after a season that combined a .450 batting average with a 2.10 ERA, underscoring his dual‑threat capabilities.
Maddox Huffman from Delta captured Pitcher of the Year honors, his clutch performances on the mound helping the Eagles clinch a sectional title.
Coach Sean Richardson of Monroe Central earned Coach of the Year after guiding a youthful roster to a sectional championship, a feat that highlighted his strategic acumen.
Other individual awards included Quentine James of Wapahani as Catcher of the Year, while the all‑area list also recognized players such as Everett Linn, Caleb Luedike, Eli Andrews, Garrett May, Lucas Terrell, Thomas Brooks and Brandt Longfellow for their respective contributions.
Honorable mentions were scattered across the county, reflecting the depth of talent that defined the 2026 season.
