A Season of Dominance
The South Bend Tribune has revealed its 2026 Baseball All‑Area team, recognizing nine athletes who combined statistical excellence with championship‑level results.
Reed Robinson of New Prairie stands out as the Player of the Year. He guided the Cougars to a fourth straight Indiana High School Athletic Association 3A sectional title and captured the Northern Indiana Conference crown. Robinson posted a .505 batting average, amassed 48 hits, drove in 28 runs, and posted a 1.456 OPS, while also stealing 20 bases.
Pitchers and position players alike earned accolades. Sullivan Kress, also from New Prairie, posted a 1.27 ERA over 55.1 innings, struck out 93 batters and hit .447 at the plate. Mason Biernacki of Penn helped the Kingsmen reach the IHSAA 4A semi‑state game, finishing the season at 25‑7. Braxton Cline of Goshen led his squad to back‑to‑back 4A sectional championships and secured the Northern Lakes Conference title.
Other notable contributors include Finley Miller of NorthWood, who played a key role in a 3A semi‑state run; Brenden Olsen of Niles, a pivotal member of the Division 2 district champions; and Ryder Richard of Brandywine, who set a school record with 19 doubles and powered the Bobcats to a Division 3 district title. Additional standouts such as Drew Bingamon, Joey Hauger, Max Shreiner, Brayden Fischer, Broderic Kaler, Mekhi Pulluaim, Landon Johns, Isaac Gill, Cayden Stockbridge, Weston Hoke, James Criniti and Jacob Snyder round out a deep field of talent.
The selections reflect a competitive landscape across northern Indiana, where conference titles and sectional crowns have become a common thread among the honorees. Their achievements not only highlight individual brilliance but also underscore the strong community support for high school baseball.
