Knoxville Baseball Squad Captures South Central Conference Title
The Knoxville Baseball Squad delivered a commanding doubleheader performance on Monday night, sweeping Albia to lock down the South Central Conference championship. The victory marks the team’s sixteenth conference title overall and its fourth since the program’s return to the league in 2014.
Kyler Gifford anchored the pitching staff, mowing down ten Albia batters while surrendering just four hits. His younger brother Ryker Gifford complemented the effort with a perfect 3‑for‑3 showing at the plate, underscoring the family’s dual impact on the game.
The nightcap saw Lincoln Norris go 3‑for‑3, launching two home runs and driving in three runs to fuel the offense. Jessen Ferguson added a solo homer, and Brady Roozeboom capped the scoring with a two‑run blast in the fifth inning, sealing the sweep.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 19‑6 overall and 15‑2 within the conference, and they now turn their attention to a road trip against Clarke tonight, hoping to carry the momentum into the next stretch of the season.
