Southeast Missouri State's baseball squad clinched a 10-5 victory over Little Rock on Tuesday, pulling away in the final stretch with a seven-run eighth inning that turned the tide.
A decisive eighth inning
Brooks Kettering opened the scoring with a solo homer in the fifth, and later added a two-RBI double in the sixth that gave the Redhawks a brief lead before Little Rock answered with two runs.
Carson Schrack, Andrew Ramirez, Caleb Klein, Josiah Hall, Ryan Lopetegui, Demitri Shakotko and Tank Sims all delivered key hits and RBIs during the burst, while Trey Hill's solo homer for Little Rock in the bottom of the eighth added a late spark.
Seed secured
The win lifts SEMO to 38-16 and secures second place in the Ohio Valley Conference, locking the third seed for the 2026 tournament and setting up a showdown on Wednesday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. in Marion, Illinois.
