Kennesaw State Secures No. 7 Seed with Senior Day Victory Over Missouri State

Nine seniors shine as Owls dominate 12-6 win, setting the stage for a home-field championship run

Kennesaw State baseball rolled past Missouri State 12-6 on Senior Day, a performance that locked the Owls into the No. 7 seed for the upcoming Conference USA tournament.

Senior Trenton Lyons led the offense with a 4-for-5 effort, driving in three runs and scoring twice, while Shamaar McDuffie continued his hot streak with three hits and three runs scored.

Charlie Jones ignited the scoring with a three-run homer in the first inning, and Cooper Williams added a game-high four RBIs, highlighted by a three-run blast in the sixth.

Peter Jezerinac earned his first career win after tossing 1.2 scoreless innings, and a combined 4.2 innings from Nate Helman and Daniel Powell kept Missouri State’s bats quiet.

Cole Royer closed out the game with two shutout innings, extending the Owls’ pitching dominance as the staff limited the Bears to just 16 runs across three meetings.

Senior Day Celebration

The victory also marked a bittersweet moment as nine seniors were honored on the field, a group that includes Lyons, McDuffie, Williams, Jezerinac, Helman, Powell, Royer and Jones. Their contributions helped shape a season that now culminates in Kennesaw hosting the 2026 C‑USA Baseball Championship beginning May 20.
