A New Era for Camels Basketball
Ali Jaques has been named the new head women's basketball coach at Campbell University, bringing nearly three decades of Division I experience to the Camels' program.
Her most recent role as associate head coach at Rhode Island resulted in a program‑record 28 wins and an NCAA Tournament berth, highlighting her ability to elevate teams under pressure.
Jaques has also guided Siena College to a Women’s Basketball Invitational championship in 2014‑15 and led George Washington to a peak national ranking of No. 8 in the AP Poll, underscoring her success across multiple institutions.
Beyond her win‑loss record, she is recognized for developing student‑athletes into leaders both on and off the court, a philosophy she plans to carry forward as she recruits the next generation of Camels.
The appointment has been welcomed by the university's athletic community, with longtime staff members such as Dr. William Downs, Hannah Bazemore, Tammi Reiss, Lauren Park‑Lane, Sidney Cooks, Joe McKeown, Marc Rybczyk, Trish Fabbri, Thorr Bjorn, Rich Ensor, Tony Bozzella, Janice Quinn and Isis Young expected to collaborate closely with the new coach.
