The Le Moyne College baseball squad secured its seventh consecutive Northeast Conference victory on Tuesday, edging Central Connecticut State University 10-8 to close out the regular season.
A dominant finish to a historic stretch
A flurry of offensive production carried the Dolphins, with Nick Kriegelstein delivering two hits, two RBIs and a run, while Landen Duprey added two hits and two scores. Cooper Romich contributed two hits, an RBI and a run, and Jack Cannon drove in two runs and stole two bases, pushing his season total to 63 RBIs, the most for a Le Moyne player since 2008.
On the mound, right‑hander Jack Molini continued his unbeaten streak, improving to 5‑0 after six solid innings, while reliever Connor Usowski recorded his first save of the year.
The game’s pivotal moment came in the third inning when the Dolphins exploded for five runs, highlighted by a leadoff triple from Cooper Romich that set up a sacrifice fly from Mike Whelehan and a walk‑induced run by James Musso.
Central Connecticut State rallied late, plating three runs in the fifth highlighted by a homer from Louis Jordan and adding two more in the seventh, but the lead held as the Blue Devils could only muster a single run in the ninth.
With the regular season now complete, Le Moyne turns its focus to the NEC Championship, opening play Thursday against top‑seeded LIU, a matchup that could cement the program’s recent dominance.
