Mizzou baseball coach Kerrick Jackson announced the commitment of former Michigan State outfielder Khamaree Thomas, marking the eleventh player to join the Tigers from the transfer portal.
A Chicago Native with Rapid Growth
Thomas, a Chicago native, spent two seasons at Michigan State before entering the portal, where he transformed from a modest freshman contributor into a standout sophomore performer.
During his sophomore year he posted a .319 batting average, collected 58 hits and drove in 31 runs, ranking second on the team in runs and third in both batting average and on‑base percentage.
Defensive Excellence Recognized
His defensive work earned a .990 fielding percentage, and he was honored with the Danny Litwhiler Defensive Player of the Year award as well as the Steve Garvey Most Improved Player award.
The Tigers finished the previous season with a 6‑24 record in league play, a result that has prompted the coaching staff to lean heavily on new transfers to reshape the roster.
Thomas's addition brings not only offensive firepower but also a proven track record of improvement and reliability in the outfield, positioning him as a key piece in the team's bounce‑back plan.
