The Western Hockey League has unveiled the full 782‑game schedule for the upcoming 2026‑27 regular season, marking the start of a tightly packed campaign that will run from mid‑September through late March.
All 23 clubs will each play 68 contests, with the league deliberately stacking more than four‑fifths of the games on weekends or holidays to maximize attendance and viewership.
Every match will be available to fans at no cost through Victory+, the newly designated streaming partner that will broadcast all regular‑season games live.
Opening night on Friday, September 18, 2026, will feature a slate of five games, including a homecoming for the Brandon Wheat Kings against the Saskatoon Blades and a showdown between the Calgary Hitmen and the Red Deer Rebels.
The schedule also highlights special showcase events, such as the CHL USA Prospects Challenge in Quebec and the WHL Prospects Game in Brandon, while the playoffs are slated to begin at the end of March and culminate in the Memorial Cup in Guelph in late May.
A Milestone Season for the WHL
Beyond entertainment, the WHL continues to serve as a critical talent pipeline for the NHL, offering scholarships to more than 375 players each year and shaping the next generation of Canadian hockey stars.
