A Historic Honor
Isabella Baltov, a recent graduate of Caddo Magnet High School, has etched her name into Louisiana soccer history by becoming the first player from the Shreveport‑Bossier City region to be named Gatorade Louisiana Girls Soccer Player of the Year. The accolade underscores not only her on‑field brilliance but also the broader impact of her achievements across sports, academics, and community service.
During her high school career she amassed 174 goals, establishing a new Caddo Parish record and earning four‑time Times All‑Metro and LHSAA All‑State first‑team honors. Her senior season culminated with the All‑State MVP award, a testament to consistent excellence that has drawn attention from coaches and recruiters alike.
Beyond the pitch, Baltov maintained a 4.19 weighted GPA, co‑founded the Red Cross Club of Shreveport, and volunteered to install smoke detectors in underserved neighborhoods. Her commitment to service reflects a holistic approach to leadership that aligns with the values celebrated by the Gatorade program.
In the fall she will continue her soccer journey at McNeese State, where she hopes to add another chapter to her athletic story while pursuing higher education. The move marks the next step in a trajectory that has already placed her among an elite group of Gatorade alumni, many of whom have gone on to professional careers and leadership roles.
The Gatorade Player of the Year program recognizes a state winner from each of the 50 states and Washington, D.C., across 12 sports, highlighting athletes who demonstrate not only skill but also character and community involvement. Baltov’s selection joins a legacy of recipients that includes future professionals and innovators, cementing her place in a distinguished lineage of achievers.
