Nebraska Announces 2026 Hall of Fame Class

Six former players, Solich and Pavelka to be honored

Nebraska is poised to celebrate a landmark moment in its football history as the 2026 Hall of Fame class is unveiled.

The inductees include Charles Fryar, who starred at cornerback in the late 1980s; Jim Scott, a starting center in the early 1990s; Cory Schlesinger, a key member of the 1995 national championship team who later played for the Detroit Lions; Cory Ross, who earned offensive MVP honors two consecutive years in the early 2000s; Lavonte David, who spent 14 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after his collegiate career; and Sam Foltz, whose promising senior season was cut short by a fatal car accident in 2016.

Honoring a Legacy

Longtime coach Frank Solich will be presented with the Hall’s Legends Award, recognizing his pivotal role in shaping Nebraska’s success over five decades, a distinction that reflects both his playing and coaching achievements.

Kent Pavelka, a longtime staffer, will receive the Lyell Bremser Special Merit Award in acknowledgment of his behind‑the‑scenes contributions.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 4, with a special tribute to the class the following day at Nebraska’s season‑opening game against Ohio.

The celebrations will also highlight the legacies of the Detroit Lions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the broader football community that has supported these athletes.
