Caden Davidson, a first baseman who starred for Gaston College, announced his commitment to the University of Florida’s baseball program, marking the seventh addition from the transfer portal and the only junior‑college transfer in the class.
A junior‑college powerhouse
During his freshman season he hit .500, smashing 23 home runs and driving in 110 runs while scoring 98 times. His 43 extra‑base hits came on 93 total hits, and he posted a .620 on‑base percentage with 46 walks against just 28 strikeouts.
Recruitment twists
Davidson had originally pledged to Wake Forest in April but later reversed his decision, a move that underscored the fluid nature of modern college recruiting.
Looking ahead
His addition bolsters Florida’s lineup, providing a proven bat that can generate run production and maintain a high on‑base presence. Coach Andrew Abadie hopes the new piece will help the Gators translate that power into more wins next season.
