The Atlantic Coast Conference announced this week that eight members of the University of California baseball roster have been selected to the 2026 All-ACC Academic Team, a distinction that celebrates both scholarly achievement and athletic contribution.
What the Honor Entails
To be considered, a student-athlete must have participated in at least half of the team’s games, with pitchers required to appear in a minimum of 20 percent of contests. In addition, candidates must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and excel in the most recent semester’s coursework.
The eight Golden Bears who earned the recognition are Cade Colombara, Oliver de la Torre, Gavin Eddy, Otto Espinoza, Ethan Foley, Take Kreis, Quinn Larson and Gannon Snyder. Each has balanced a demanding academic schedule with a full slate of competition, meeting the rigorous standards set by the conference.
A Tradition of Excellence
The All-ACC Academic Team has become a benchmark for collegiate programs that value the integration of intellect and athletics. This year’s cohort reflects the conference’s ongoing commitment to developing well-rounded leaders who will carry the lessons learned on the diamond into their future professions.
