At the recent Big 12 Media Days in Frisco, Texas, senior linebacker Taye Brown stepped onto the spotlight as the primary representative of the Arizona Wildcats.
Coach’s Assessment
Defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales praised Brown’s impact, calling him one of the conference’s most formidable linebackers and emphasizing his preparation for the upcoming season.
Brown’s statistical profile underscores the praise: he recorded 93 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across the 2025 campaign.
A native of Chandler, Arizona, Brown is in his fourth year in Tucson and has started 24 games, the most among returning defensive players, having appeared in 38 career contests — second only to quarterback Noah Fifita’s 40 appearances.
His consistency earned him a second‑team All‑Big 12 nod from Phil Steele Magazine, a testament to his reliability and leadership on the field.
Looking ahead, Brown will enter the 2027 season with an 18‑game starting streak at linebacker, positioning him as a cornerstone for Arizona’s defensive ambitions in the Big 12 championship race.
