A New Direction for the Blues
The St. Louis Blues announced a sweeping reconfiguration of its front office, unveiling a slate of promotions and new appointments that will shape the team’s hockey operations over the coming seasons.
Keith Tkachuk, a longtime figure in the organization, has been named advisor to the president of hockey operations. He previously served as director of recruitment since 2019 and brings deep scouting experience to the role.
Chris Thorburn, who concluded a 14‑year NHL career with the Blues during their 2018‑19 Stanley Cup championship season, now steps into the position of director of player development.
Alex Starovoytov, who has been a part‑time scout since 2019, rises to full‑time scout, expanding the team’s talent‑evaluation footprint.
Madison Greenough, hired as a hockey data engineer in 2023, climbs to senior data engineer, while Jazzmyn Carter, who joined as a hockey operations coordinator in 2021, is promoted to senior coordinator of hockey operations.
Veteran forward Robert Bortuzzo re‑joins the club in a full‑time capacity as a pro scout, adding on‑ice insight to the scouting department.
The organization also welcomed Shane Malloy as director of strategic planning, leveraging his background in statistical risk analysis to forecast player performance, and Dr. Ted Barile as team chiropractor. Dr. Barile also serves as the chiropractor for MLS NEXT Pro’s St. Louis City2 soccer side.
Both Tkachuk and Malloy will report directly to President of Hockey Operations Doug Armstrong, while the remaining positions will report to General Manager Alexander Steen.
