The Chicago Blackhawks announced Tuesday that they have inked veteran defenseman Ian Cole to a one-year contract worth $4.75 million.

Cole, 37, arrives as a two-time Stanley Cup champion, having been a key piece of the Pittsburgh Penguins' back-to-back titles in 2016 and 2017.
After a full 82-game campaign with the Utah Mammoth in the 2025-26 season, Cole posted three goals and 20 assists, his most productive offensive output since the 2019-20 campaign.
