The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) revealed that every available football season ticket for the 2026 campaign has been snapped up, marking the second consecutive year the program has achieved a sell‑out.
The surge in demand follows a stadium expansion that added more than 3,300 seats in the south end zone, with a dedicated block of over 3,300 spots reserved for current students. The recent renovation raised the venue’s capacity to 13,498, enabling the university to accommodate a larger fan base and to offer additional tickets beyond the initial allotment.
A new ticketing model on the horizon
Fans who missed out on the initial release can still join a waitlist at GoUTRGV.com/FootballWaitList, where approximately 3,000 supporters are requesting around 14,500 tickets. Allocation of the remaining seats will follow a Vaqueros Loyalty Points system, and a fresh single‑game ticketing platform is slated for launch later this summer.
Attendance data from the 2025 season shows the program drew 87,774 spectators across seven home games, averaging 12,539 fans per contest. That performance placed UTRGV 15th nationally in average attendance and 11th in the Football Championship Subdivision.
