District 19 11U Tournament Kicks Off

The Media Little League 11U team opened its District 19 campaign with a 17-1 victory over South Marple, a game that featured a three-inning no-hitter thrown jointly by Finn Parcell and Tommy Marcin. Owen Kepner contributed a 3-for-3 performance with four RBIs, while Rob Pirzekop added two hits and two RBIs to round out the offense.

Newtown Edgmont continued its strong start, defeating Marple Township 12-2. Will Cannon led the offense with a three-hit day, and Brogan McKinney delivered 3.2 innings of solid pitching, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. Julian Edwards closed the game in relief, preserving the win.

Aston Valley posted an 11-3 win over Narberth, powered by Brett Walmsley’s 3-for-3 effort and three RBIs. Tyler August threw four no-hit innings, recording seven strikeouts to earn the victory.

Chester broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning to beat Drexel Hill 8-2. Joey Russo pitched five one-hit shutout innings, striking out four batters to secure the win.

Senior Legion Highlights

In Main Line Senior Legion action, Ridley edged Aston with a timely hit from Tim Calamita, who went 3-for-3 with a triple, a walk and a run scored. Evan Nangle earned the win for Ridley, striking out five over three innings.

UDHL defeated Broomall Newtown 3-2 in a tightly contested matchup. Donny Rieck launched a solo home run in the seventh inning for Broomall Newtown, while Joey Graziani retired the side in order to finish a five-hit complete game with seven strikeouts for UDHL.

Narberth, sitting in first place, secured a win over Media Yellow behind Aiden O’Quinn’s 2-for-3 performance that included two triples, two RBIs and a run scored. Reliever Gaven Bowman tossed 4.2 hitless frames, striking out five to close out the game.
