2026 Veteran of the Game Program Seeks Community Nominations
Texas Athletics, in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin’s Veteran and Military Affiliated Services, has opened nominations for the 2026 Texas Football Veteran of the Game program, an initiative presented by the Texas Lottery.
The program celebrates veterans who have demonstrated a meaningful impact in their communities while maintaining a connection to the university, recognizing their service beyond the battlefield.
Submission Details and Selection
Eligible nominees must have served honorably, be linked to UT Austin, and show a tangible contribution to their local areas. The call for nominations welcomes input from fans, alumni, faculty, staff and community members alike.
Submission deadline is Sunday, July 19, 2024, after which a limited number of awardees will be selected for on‑field recognition during the upcoming season.
While nomination submission does not guarantee selection, the program provides a platform to spotlight the diverse ways veterans enrich the campus and broader Texas community.
