A New Chapter for Rutgers Basketball
The Rutgers University women's basketball squad is set to travel to Peru next year, where they will take part in the FISU America Games scheduled for July 218 to August 1, 2026.
The competition will bring together student‑athletes from more than twenty nations across North, Central and South America, offering a unique chance for the Scarlet Knights to test themselves against a diverse field.
Head coach Gary Redus has described the trip as a pivotal moment for team cohesion, noting that the experience will shape the group’s chemistry as they look ahead to the 2026‑27 season.
Playing in Lima’s National Sports Village, a venue that once hosted the 2019 Pan American Games, will immerse the Scarlet Knights in a setting steeped in sporting history.
Beyond the matches, the tour is intended to forge lasting bonds among the players and to give them a glimpse of the international stage, factors that Redus believes will be invaluable as the program moves forward.
