A Senior Star Emerges
Nolan Bickelhaupt, a senior at Oak Harbor High School, has become a focal point of the baseball program thanks to a blend of speed, power and poise on the mound.
His reputation stretches beyond raw athleticism; coaches and teammates alike note his disciplined approach at the plate and his ability to read opposing offenses.
Season Highlights
During his junior year he scored 37 runs and stole 24 bases, a combination that earned him a green‑light to attempt steals in smart situations.
On the pitching side he posted a 2.00 ERA, fanning 81 batters over 56 innings and even threw a no‑hit shutout against Edison with six strikeouts.
At the plate he batted .430, striking out only 11 times in 86 at‑bats, which helped him earn first‑team all‑conference honors in the outfield.
Looking Ahead
Bickelhaupt says his senior year is about more than personal stats; he wants to steer the team to an outright championship and then continue his career at the college level.
The roster also features teammates such as Cooper Schultz and Nick Lance, who have contributed key performances that helped Oak Harbor finish second in the Northern Buckeye Conference with an 18‑10 record.
