Jordan Talley, a former player development assistant at the University of Florida, has joined the University of Dayton basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2026‑27 season.
Talley arrived with a championship pedigree, having contributed to Florida’s NCAA title in 2025, and he quickly began evaluating the new roster.
Praise for Talent and Character
He highlighted the Flyers’ blend of size, athleticism and shooting ability, noting that the team’s character and camaraderie stand out as foundational strengths.
Talley emphasized that success will hinge on teamwork and the intangible qualities that bind players together.
A Path Forged in the Southeast
Having coached under Dru Joyce III at Duquesne and Mark Byington at James Madison, Talley now leverages his network across Florida, Georgia and the broader Southeast to recruit for Dayton.
His recent scouting trips included stops in Gainesville, Sandusky and Atlanta, where he observed prospects and began extending offers to members of the 2028 class.
With the coaching staff already making five offers in June, Talley expects his connections to help shape a roster capable of a deep NCAA tournament run.
The excitement within the program reflects a belief that the combination of talent, size and a strong culture could translate into on‑court success in the coming seasons.
