Riley Goodman Joins Georgia Bulldogs
Riley Goodman, a right‑handed pitcher who spent two seasons with the South Carolina Gamecocks, announced his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs on Tuesday, marking the twelfth transfer addition to the program this offseason.
Despite a rough 2026 campaign in which he posted an 8.59 ERA over 22 innings and recorded 25 strikeouts, Goodman was recognized as one of the top arms on the Gamecocks staff and earned the honor of starting the team’s Opening Day game.
A Season of Struggles in Columbia
The 2026 season proved to be a difficult one for South Carolina, as the team struggled to find consistency on the mound. Goodman’s ERA placed him among the higher figures in the conference, yet his ability to generate strikeouts hinted at underlying talent that could flourish under different coaching.
