Ryle High School in Kentucky is set to host a high‑profile preseason Soccerama scrimmage that will bring together 18 of the region’s elite girls soccer programs.
The two‑day event, scheduled for August 7‑8 at Borland Stadium, will feature 12 matches played in 35‑minute halves with a 10‑minute halftime, giving teams a brief 25‑minute warm‑up before kickoff.
A marquee showdown
The centerpiece of the first day will be a clash between Louisville Sacred Heart and Summit Country Day, a matchup that pits two‑time defending Kentucky state champions against the reigning Ohio Division IV titleholders.
Summit Country Day has captured a state title in each of the past four seasons, while Sacred Heart enters the scrimmage as a perennial powerhouse in the Bluegrass State.
Other notable participants include Bishop Brossart, Anderson, and Seton, with Seton having finished as Division I runners‑up and Anderson falling in the Division II semifinals last year.
The schedule also highlights a Catholic‑school showdown on August 8 between Brossart and Seton, while host Ryle will face Anderson on the opening day.
Beyond competition, the organizers are using the event to collect donations of food and soccer equipment for local community partners, underscoring the event’s charitable purpose.
Fourteen Northern Kentucky teams will be represented, including Campbell County, Simon Kenton, Conner and Dixie Heights, reflecting the strong regional talent pool.
All matches will adhere to the standardized 35‑minute halves and 10‑minute halftime format, ensuring a level playing field across the tournament.
