A New Chapter for Felhaber
The San Jose Sharks announced this week that they have inked forward Tye Felhaber to a one‑year, two‑way contract, a move that adds depth to their forward lines and provides flexibility between the NHL and the American Hockey League.
Felhaber arrives after a breakout season with the Colorado Eagles, where he posted 15 goals and 31 points across 63 games, marking his highest point total in the AHL to date.
AHL Excellence
The 27‑year‑old’s NHL résumé includes five appearances with the Colorado Avalanche, the first of which came on December 16, 2024, and he brings a blend of experience and offensive upside that the Sharks hope will translate into more consistent scoring.
Prior to his AHL stint, Felhaber honed his game in the ECHL, earning an All‑Star nod and winning the accuracy challenge in 2022‑23, while also tallying 63 points that season.
NHL Debut and Beyond
His junior career spanned five seasons in the OHL, split between the Saginaw Spirit and Ottawa 67’s, culminating in a Second All‑Star Team selection in 2018‑19 after he recorded 59 goals and 109 points.
Before joining the Sharks, Felhaber signed as a free agent with the Dallas Stars on March 1, 2019, and has since accumulated 129 points in 294 AHL games across several franchises, including the Milwaukee Admirals, Syracuse Crunch, Texas Stars, Laval Rocket and Idaho Steelheads.
General manager Mike Grier praised the signing, noting Felhaber’s work ethic and versatility, and expressed confidence that the forward will contribute positively both on and off the ice.
