The floating arena, part of the Seattle Soccer Celebration 2026, is designed to bring the excitement of the tournament to the city’s waterfront while providing a playful space for local youth.
Marine Rescue Technologies Inc. (MRT) supplied a suite of Man Overboard (MOB) recovery tools, including high‑visibility nets, telescopic rescue poles and bright orange life rings, to ensure that any emergency on the water can be addressed swiftly. MRT President Michael Ritchie said he was proud that his company could contribute to the safety of visitors to the barge, noting that the equipment enables local safety teams to reach, retrieve and recover individuals in case of an emergency.
Community Impact and the 52‑Field Vision
The project is a collaborative effort between Seattle Reign FC, Seattle Sounders FC and their charitable arm, the RAVE Foundation. Their joint venture marks the 52nd mini‑soccer field the foundation plans to install across Washington state, extending the sport’s reach to communities that might otherwise lack access.
During designated Free Play Days, the floating field opens its gates to children under 14 for unrestricted play at no cost. The initiative aims to foster connection, encourage physical activity and give underserved kids a chance to experience the game in an unforgettable setting.
