A Community Tradition Returns
After a two‑decade absence, the Kings of the Court 3‑on‑3 Basketball Tournament is set to make its comeback in Statesboro, Georgia, thanks to the efforts of Project P.H.A.T. Productions.
The revival was announced by organizers who credit the original concept to Pastor John Wesley Hunter Sr., who launched the event nearly 20 years ago as a way to channel youthful energy into positive community engagement.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, July 25, and is open to boys and girls between the ages of 16 and 20. Games will be played in a 3‑on‑3 format, complemented by free‑throw and three‑point shooting contests designed to showcase skill and creativity.
Organizers emphasize that the event is more than competition; it is a platform for mentorship, teamwork, and the reinforcement of faith‑based values that Hunter championed.
Project P.H.A.T. Productions, the group behind the revival, hopes the tournament will not only re‑introduce the beloved tradition to a new generation but also inspire greater participation in future editions, strengthening community bonds through sport.
