Arrest and Charges
Kadan Lewis, a defensive lineman for Southeastern Louisiana University, was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon after a woman alleged she was assaulted in his residence on June 23.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the alleged victim required medical treatment for injuries sustained during the attack, prompting investigators to seek a warrant for Lewis's arrest.
Legal Proceedings
A warrant was obtained Thursday morning, and Lewis turned himself in later that afternoon, where he was booked on charges of second‑degree battery, false imprisonment and criminal damage to property.
Lewis, a native of Houma, Louisiana, has been a key contributor to the university's football squad, playing primarily as a defensive lineman.

Southeastern Louisiana University officials have yet to issue a public statement, while the sheriff's office continues its investigation into the alleged assault and property damage.
