A season of redemption
Dez Lindsay, a 6‑foot‑6 senior forward for the Kansas State men’s basketball team, has turned a series of setbacks into a driving force for his final college campaign.
After dislocating his left shoulder multiple times — once at Oregon and again during his early college years — Lindsay has embraced the physical grind, using the pain as a reminder of his resilience.
Coach Casey Alexander has praised Lindsay’s maturity, noting that the forward’s work ethic and team‑first attitude have become a model for younger players.
Lindsay’s journey began at Florida SouthWestern State College before he transferred to Oregon, where he posted modest numbers of 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, before catching the eye of the K‑State staff through a highlight reel that highlighted his shooting touch and defensive versatility.
Now sharing a house with roommates JT Rock, Isaiah Abraham and Andrej Kostic, Lindsay says the camaraderie off the court fuels the team’s chemistry and fast‑paced offense that he hopes will translate into deep March Madness runs.
He credits his older brothers for instilling perseverance and mental toughness, traits that have helped him bounce back from each injury and stay focused on his goal of making a tangible impact before graduation.
