Chase Blazekovic, a senior at Ida Baker High School in Florida, has earned a spot on the United States roster for the upcoming international basketball competition in Costa Rica, scheduled for July 14‑22. The invitation marks the third straight year the teenager has been selected to wear the Team USA jersey on the world stage.
His basketball résumé stretches across continents. In 2024, he helped the U.S. squad capture a silver medal at tournaments in Portugal and Spain, and a year earlier he contributed to a bronze‑medal finish at the United World Games in Klagenfurt, Austria. Those experiences have taken him from the courts of Europe to the historic arenas of Germany and Italy, each stop adding to a growing portfolio of international exposure.
Blazekovic’s love for the game began on the playgrounds of Southwest Florida, where he first dribbled a ball at age four. He later honed his skills with competitive AAU programs such as the Warriors and Fuego, eventually securing a varsity position as a sophomore — a rare achievement that foreshadows a standout senior season.
