Top New York Star Chooses Syracuse
Elijah Kimble, the premier high school football player in New York State, revealed his college decision on Tuesday, confirming that he will join the Syracuse Orange.
Kimble, a four-star prospect in the Class of 2027, is ranked 23rd nationally among running backs by Rivals. Over his three-year tenure at Canisius High School in Buffalo, he amassed 5,325 rushing yards and scored 77 touchdowns, a combination that has drawn attention from programs across the country.
A Record of Production
Coaches at Canisius praised Kimble’s work ethic and versatility. ‘He’s been a workhorse on the field,’ said his high school coach. ‘His ability to break tackles and find the end zone has been evident every Saturday.’
The commitment marks a significant milestone for Syracuse, which now boasts three of the top-10 players in the 2027 class. Analysts say the Orange’s recruiting class currently sits at No. 35 nationally, a respectable position that could climb with additional signeings.
Kimble said he has known his decision since June 10, but waited for the right moment to make it public. ‘I’ve been dreaming about this day,’ he said in a statement. ‘Syracuse offers the perfect blend of academics, culture and football tradition.’
