The University of Alabama’s athletic department has disclosed a series of six Level 3 NCAA violations that spanned the fiscal year from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
The infractions touched a quartet of programs — football, women’s soccer, women’s gymnastics, and men’s tennis — as well as the university’s film unit and its Crimson Tide Productions subsidiary.
Scope of the Findings
Investigators determined that a football staff member had engaged in impermissible contact with a prospective student‑athlete during an evaluation period, while a women’s soccer coach emailed a recruit before the permissible date.
In the film department, a student worker placed bets on sporting events through the Kalshi platform, and a separate Crimson Tide Productions employee repeated the same conduct.
Additional breaches involved scheduling conflicts that placed end‑of‑year banquets for the women’s gymnastics and men’s tennis teams during the critical week of final examinations.
Corrective Measures
The university responded with a comprehensive package that includes mandatory rules education, formal admonishments, and targeted restrictions on future recruiting activities.
Affected student‑athletes in gymnastics and tennis will receive two extra days of rest in the 2026‑2027 academic year as part of the settlement.
University officials emphasized that the violations were self‑reported and that the corrective steps are designed to reinforce compliance across all athletic and extracurricular operations.
