A Decade of Ascendancy
Georgia Tech’s 2025 recruiting class has vaulted to the 23rd spot nationally, marking the highest ranking the program has achieved this decade. The surge reflects a broader upward trend that began in 2020 and has continued to gather momentum.
Among the standouts, Jahmyr Gibbs of the 2020 cohort emerged as a dual‑threat weapon, amassing more than 1,200 rushing yards while also hauling in 60 passes over two seasons. His versatility has become a cornerstone of the Yellow Jackets’ offensive schemes.
From the 2021 class, Malik Rutherford cemented his place in school history, climbing to second all‑time in career receptions with 182 grabs. His steady production has provided a reliable outlet for quarterbacks and a model of consistency.
The 2022 influx brought Clayton Powell‑Lee, a freshman All‑American who started 12 games in the 2025 season and continues to demonstrate playmaking ability on both sides of the ball.
Eric Singleton Jr, a 2023 recruit, exploded onto the scene with 104 catches for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns in just two years, underscoring the program’s ability to develop elite receivers.
Aaron Philo’s brief stint in the 2024 class saw him throw for 938 yards before he transferred to Florida, a move that highlights the program’s role as a springboard for talent.
Jordan Allen, a member of the 2025 class, currently ranks fourth on the team in receiving with 22 catches for over 300 yards, suggesting that the newest cohort is already making its mark.
Building the Next Generation
Head coach Brent Key, who oversees the 2027 class currently ranked 24th, has signaled a commitment to giving top prospects meaningful snaps. Freshmen such as Jaedyn Terry and Jeffar Jean‑Noel are already being earmarked for expanded roles.
