Virginia Tech Unveils 2026 Men’s and Women’s Soccer Schedules

The upcoming seasons pit the Hokies against a slate of 2025 NCAA Tournament opponents, testing both programs as they look to build on recent progress.

Virginia Tech’s athletics department released the full 2026 men’s and women’s soccer calendars this week, laying out a demanding slate of games that begins in early August and stretches through the fall.

The men’s team will test its mettle against eight opponents that earned berths in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, a group that includes traditional powerhouses such as NC State and Furman, both of which reached the College Cup last year, as well as Ohio State, Marshall, Boston College and Syracuse.

On the women’s side, the Hokies will face nine Tournament teams, headlined by defending national champions Florida State, while also meeting other competitive programs across the country.

Looking ahead

Both programs experienced mixed results in 2025; the men finished 7‑4‑5 while the women ended 4‑10‑4, a season that marked the first time in program history the women failed to secure an ACC victory.

Coaches say the tough non‑conference slate is designed to sharpen the teams before ACC play, giving them early exposure to high‑level competition that could translate into stronger conference performances.

The upcoming season will also provide opportunities for younger players to gain experience against top‑tier opponents, a factor that could prove decisive as the Hokies aim to climb the national rankings.
