Florida State University’s baseball program has continued to reshape its roster through the transfer portal, announcing the commitment of right‑handed pitcher Sebastian Lippman from Florida Gulf Coast University. The move marks the fifth transfer the Seminoles have secured this offseason and the second pitcher added to the staff, underscoring a strategic focus on depth and experience.
Lippman’s collegiate journey began at Georgia Tech, where he redshirted in 2025 before transferring to FGCU. In the 2026 season he appeared in 21 games, posting a 3.38 earned‑run average over 40 innings while recording two saves. He limited opponents to a .219 batting average, allowing just 18 runs (15 earned) on 32 hits and 28 walks. Though his bat was rarely used — going 1‑for‑16 with a home run, four walks, three runs and two RBI — he struck out nine times and is expected to concentrate on pitching in Tallahassee.

Coaches view Lippman as a reliable arm who can both start and relieve, noting his ability to throw a career‑high 4.2 innings on two occasions. His track record of consistency and his proven late‑season performance give the staff flexibility as they build a rotation that can compete in the ACC.
