Garrett Temple, a veteran guard who spent 16 seasons in the NBA, is poised to transition into coaching as he prepares to join the Dallas Mavericks' staff.
During his playing days, Temple logged 793 games across a dozen franchises, including the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards, Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans and the Toronto Raptors, averaging 5.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
His addition marks the second coaching appointment for head coach Dusty May, who previously brought on former New Orleans Pelicans head coach Willie Green to his bench.
Strategic Implications for Dallas
The move underscores May's intent to blend veteran savvy with fresh perspectives, positioning the Mavericks to leverage Temple's extensive on‑court experience as they aim to contend in the Western Conference.
