The St. Augustine Record has unveiled its 2026 All‑County baseball team, recognizing the standout performers from St. Johns County high schools.
Junior pitcher Gavin Duprey from Creekside was selected as the Record’s baseball player of the year, posting a 1.00 ERA, 76 strikeouts and a 0.929 WHIP across the season.
Senior pitcher Matthew Bysheim also impressed with a 1.74 ERA, 67 strikeouts and a 0.923 WHIP, while CJ McKenzie of Ponte Vedra posted a 1.82 ERA, 56 strikeouts and a 1.096 WHIP, highlighted by a 16‑strikeout no‑hitter.
A season of excellence
Position players brought additional firepower; Connor Balazic, a junior catcher, batted .312 with a .867 OPS and 19 stolen bases, while Dominic Cantona, a senior first baseman, posted a .351 average, four doubles, two triples and a .944 OPS.
Outfielders such as Aramis Guanchez, a sophomore, hit .386 with 10 doubles and 28 runs, and Colby Dean, a senior from Bartram Trail, batted .361 with four doubles and a .954 OPS.
Infielder Gavin Nickel of Beachside contributed a .325 average and four doubles, while Tommy Glasspoole, a senior third baseman from Tocoi Creek, hit .313 with seven doubles and a .783 OPS.
Maddux Dowler, a senior shortstop from St. Augustine, added a .296 average and eight doubles, and Cullen Garner, a sophomore outfielder from St. Joseph, hit .259 with eight home runs, 33 RBIs and a .969 OPS.
Utility standouts like Garrison Wade of St. Joseph batted .464 with eight doubles and 21 RBIs, while also delivering a 2.72 ERA and 61 strikeouts on the mound.
The breadth of talent across the county reflects a competitive season, with multiple players earning All‑County honors and setting the stage for next year’s expectations.
