The Crestwood Red Devils have unveiled their 2026 high school football schedule, a slate that blends tradition with fresh challenges. The announcement comes as the program looks to rebuild after a drought of winning seasons.
A Renewed Rivalry
Week 2 will see the Red Devils travel to face the Garfield G-Men in a nonleague showdown, marking their first meeting in seven years. The two sides last collided in 2018, a game that went to overtime, and the memory of that narrow victory still fuels the rivalry.
This year the Red Devils will also meet five new opponents, including Mineral Ridge, Independence, Conneaut and Fairview. Each of those matchups brings a different style of play, forcing the coaching staff to adapt quickly.
The season also features a familiar local flavor, with Mogadore appearing as the second straight year’s opening opponent, providing a comfortable start before the schedule toughens.
Goals on the Horizon
Beyond the new faces, the team’s ultimate aim is clear: secure a postseason berth for the first time since 2023 and achieve a winning record for the first time since 2021, when they captured their most recent league championship.
Community leaders and alumni alike are watching closely, hopeful that the renewed competition will translate into the sustained success the program has not seen in recent years.
