Adam Novotný, a 24th overall selection in the recent NHL draft, joins the Vancouver Canucks with a clear point of reference: he models his game after Mason McTavish, the dynamic forward who has quickly become a benchmark for modern play.
During the team’s development camp, Novotný caught the eye with a blend of speed and hockey sense, recording two goals and a crisp assist in a prospects’ scrimmage that showcased his ability to find open space and convert chances.
General Manager Ryan Johnson highlighted the Czech native’s combination of skill, character and upside, stating that the organization is eager to nurture his growth within the Canucks’ system.
Coach Mikael Samuelsson also praised the youngster’s skating and positive attitude, noting that his work ethic and coachability make him a valuable addition to the roster.
A New Face in Vancouver
Novotný, who previously starred for the Peterborough Petes in the OHL, expressed enthusiasm about stepping onto the NHL stage, saying he looks forward to learning from seasoned coaches and teammates while bringing his own brand of energy to the lineup.
