Pro Football Focus has released its early outlook for the 2026 college football season, placing Florida’s Jadan Baugh at No. 37 among the nation’s top players. The ranking underscores a blend of proven production and future upside that the analytics site believes will define his upcoming campaign.
Baugh’s 2025 campaign yielded an 87.7 overall grade, a figure that reflects his consistency and big‑play ability. He amassed 1,168 rushing yards, forced 65 missed tackles and produced 35 explosive runs, while only fumbling once in 354 career carries.
The ranking puts him fourth among SEC backs, trailing Ahmad Hardy, Kewan Lacy and Caleb Hawkins, but the projection sees him as a potential Doak Walker Award candidate. His ability to break tackles and sustain drives makes him a cornerstone for Florida’s offensive plans.
A New Offensive Identity
Florida’s new offensive coordinator Jon Sumrall has said he intends to feature Baugh heavily, a strategy that differs from former coach Billy Napier’s scheme. Sumrall’s play‑calling aims to maximize the back’s versatility, using him as both a rusher and a receiver in space.
With limited film on Sumrall’s system and fresh personnel, opposing defenses will have to adapt quickly to a back who has already shown he can break tackles. The lack of extensive tape creates both uncertainty and opportunity for rival coordinators.
