Cal Poly standout joins top Portuguese women's league ahead of the 2026‑27 season

A milestone for Cal Poly soccer

Jessie Halladay, the 2025 Big West Championship Most Valuable Player, has signed her first professional contract with Racing Power FC in Setúbal, Portugal, joining the club ahead of the 2026‑27 season.

The 22‑year‑old from Los Gatos, California, arrives after a standout collegiate career in which she helped the Mustangs capture their fourth Big West Tournament title and secure the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth in 21 years.

College legacy and historic ties

During three seasons at Cal Poly, Halladay recorded 19 goals, 11 assists and 149 shots across 55 appearances, placing her among the program’s all‑time leaders and tying her for 11th place with Jill Nelsen, a legendary player from the late 1990s.

Her senior year was a showcase of dominance, as she led the conference in goals, total shots and points, earned United Soccer Coaches All‑West Region First Team honors and scored the decisive goals in both the Big West Semifinals and Championship matches.

Now signed with Racing Power FC, Halladay will compete in Portugal’s premier women’s league, Liga BPI, as the club prepares for its 2026‑27 campaign set to begin in September.

The contract makes Halladay the seventh Cal Poly women’s soccer alumna to turn professional, highlighting the university’s growing influence on the sport’s elite pipeline.
