Ducks Pitchers Earn National Honors
Two Oregon Ducks pitchers, Will Sanford and Tanner Bradley, have been selected for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, a roster that will travel to Taiwan to compete in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship beginning July 11.
Sanford concluded the 2026 season with a 3.74 earned run average and 126 strikeouts, earning All‑American honors and signaling his readiness to return to Eugene for his senior year under coach Mark Wasikowski.
Bradley posted a 1.66 ERA and recorded 84 strikeouts across 31 relief appearances, establishing a program record with a 0.82 WHIP and anchoring a bullpen that helped the Ducks close the season strong.
A Milestone for Oregon Baseball
Their selections mark the first time since 2017 and 2018 that Oregon has placed multiple players on the Collegiate National Team, a milestone that reflects the program’s upward trajectory under Wasikowski despite offseason turbulence.
Both pitchers will join a roster that includes veteran collegiate talent from across the country, and they will face off against teams from Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea and the host nation as the championship unfolds over the next two weeks.
The experience is expected to provide a valuable developmental boost for Sanford and Bradley as they prepare for the upcoming college season, while also showcasing the growing reputation of the Oregon program on the national stage.
Looking Ahead
The achievement underscores the impact of Coach Mark Wasikowski’s recruiting and development strategies, which have steadily elevated the Ducks’ competitiveness in the Pac‑12 and beyond.
Fans and alumni have rallied around the news, anticipating that the duo’s performance in Taiwan could serve as a catalyst for future successes, including potential selections for next year’s national squad.
