A Recruiting Surge for Purdue
Kevin Savage, a 6‑foot‑7 forward ranked No. 36 nationally, announced his verbal commitment to Purdue University earlier this week, locking in the Boilermakers for the class of 2027.
His pledge arrives alongside five‑star center Isaiah Hill, a top‑20 prospect who will also join the Boilermakers, giving Purdue a double‑digit boost in its recruiting metrics.
Savage’s decision follows a summer that saw him test his mettle at the NBPA Top‑100 camp, where he caught the eye of several coaches and secured a slate of offers from programs across the country.
A native of Marietta, Georgia, who starred at Wheeler School, Savage chose Purdue over a host of other suitors, citing the university’s academic reputation and the chance to play under head coach Matt Painter.
The commitments have helped Purdue climb to the sixth spot in the national class rankings according to On3, a site that tracks recruiting trends and player evaluations.
