A Night of Fireworks on the Cape
The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox erupted for a 17-1 victory over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, turning a routine Cape Cod League matchup into a showcase of offensive firepower.
Starter Kyle Alivo, who had been a reliable arm for Hyannis, unraveled quickly, surrendering ten runs before the second inning was complete, a turn of events that left the Harbor Hawks scrambling.
At the plate, first baseman Tommy Goodin continued his hot streak, having been named player of the week just days earlier, and his timely hitting helped fuel the early surge.
The Red Sox now sit at 15-1-1, a record that reflects not only raw talent but also a +79 run differential and a team ERA of 2.17, the best marks on the Cape this season.
Manager Scott Pickler, who has guided the club through countless summer campaigns, called the performance a testament to the squad’s chemistry, noting that Lucas Franco’s first home run of the summer added a spark to the lineup.
With an eye on the postseason, the Red Sox are chasing their 11th championship, a goal that Pickler says feels within reach given the depth and confidence coursing through the clubhouse.
