Draw Format and Qualification Path
The eleventh edition of the Basketball Champions League will feature a record 54 clubs competing across its calendar, marking a significant expansion from previous seasons.
Competition begins with a series of qualification round tournaments scheduled from September 14 to September 20, 2026, after which thirty clubs will have secured direct entry into the Regular Season.
Two additional spots will be decided during those tournaments, bringing the total number of teams that move into the group phase to thirty‑two.
Regular Season Structure
The Regular Season is set to tip off on October 6, 2026 and will be organized into eight groups of four teams each.
Teams are allocated into four pots based on the latest BCL Club Rankings and BCL Country Rankings, and the draw respects country protection, preventing clubs from the same nation from meeting in the same group.
The draw ceremony, which will determine the group compositions and the qualification tournament brackets, will be streamed live on the official BCL YouTube channel, allowing fans worldwide to follow the proceedings in real time.
